...on your clock radio might just benefit from these little guys. Forceps!

Now, I just want you to know, these used to scare me. I know, I spend all day manhandling giant robotic welders and plasma cutters and these scare me? Maybe its just the heebie-jeebies. Maybe when I see surgical equipment my first reaction isn't to pretend like I know what it's for. Generally this may still be a healthy practice, but forceps have a unique and undeniable place in the workshop.

Best uses are probably for electronics, but other small (in size) projects may benefit as well. On the one hand, they can perform some of the same functions as needle nose pliers. Needle nose pliers, however, require that you keep your original grip in order to keep pressure on your work. Forceps have that handy cic-cic-cic ratchet feature to keep the pressure on for you. So if you need to, you can adjust your grip without letting go and get much better control over your work.

In fact, we were breaking expensive watertight cords pretty frequently until we started using these. If you do a lot of electronics work, the payback on these will be pretty quick.

See, no need to fear.
